The beautiful spring sunshine is set to come to an end.

Liverpool has enjoyed unexpectedly hot and sunny weather this week, with temperatures of just over 22°C recorded by the Merseyside Weather Station, but cooler, unsettled conditions are set to return.

The Met Office forecasts Liverpool will be hotter than parts of Greece as the mercury hits 22°C on Friday and Saturday, when the city will bask in spring sunshine. The Greek capital Athens will be one or two degrees cooler over the same period.

It will also feel much cooler than of late, with the temperature dropping to around 16°C or 17°C. Rainfall amounts are expected to be above average in ‘many areas’ and the unsettled conditions could continue for much of May.
